The shooting star from the window doesn't vanish. It swoops through the open glass and crash-lands, tiny and dim, between the two lanterns. The little lights gather around it, shy at first. Then every flower in the garden sends up a firefly, and one by one they feed the star until it wakes and takes off, brighter than anything in the room.
